First Grade is an exciting time for both teachers and students. We look forward to sharing this journey with you and your child as they explore, learn, and grow throughout the year. Here is a glimpse into our quarterly modules. 

Tennessee: My Place in America

The students will embark on an adventure to discover their home state of Tennessee. They will discover the products, landforms and landmarks found throughout our wonderful state.

Out of This World:

A Star Wars Adventure

Students will train as Jedis to stop "Dark" Vader from destroying Earth's light source, the sun. They will be equipped with knowledge about our sun, moon, and stars. The Jedis will use the force to defeat the enemy and ensure that the patterns of the earth remain.

Kidtopia

Students will create their own community after exploring the importance of government, rules and economics. They will also learn what it means to be a good citizen in the community.

Plants all Around 

The first graders will explore a variety of plants in their environment, as well as their parts, needs and functions. We will share all we discovered with you through a musical performance at the end of the quarter.
