Hello There!
This will be my 7th year at Normal Park, and teaching is my passion, especially teaching Math! I tell people I'm an educator and entertainer! Students who excel in the Honors Algebra 1 class this year will begin high school with 1 math credit, and those who take 8th grade math will be fully prepared to be successful when they take Algebra 1 as a 9th grader. Previously, I taught Algebra at the high school level, so I make it a point to prepare students for an overall easy transition into high school. In my classes, we work very hard while having fun at the same time!
A little about me...
In 2007, I gradated from UTC with a Bachelors in Business Marketing, and then went back and got my Masters in Education in 2015. I am fulfilled as a teacher, and I am exactly where I'm supposed to be. I consider myself to be a patient, accepting, overly organized, supportive, yet strict math teacher who can relate to all of my students on some level. I enjoy a learning environment where we can get things done and have silly moments along the way.
My husband, Allan, and I have lived in North Chatt for over 10 years. I enjoy seeing my students' faces every day in the community! We have three kids: Arthur (7 years), Charlie (5 years), and Josie (3 years). Arthur & Charlie attend Normal Park while Josie goes to the Normal Park daycare, so I am a Normal Park teacher and parent! My family loves to explore outdoors, watch movies, get messy, laugh, and spend as much time together as we can!
