What's going on!? My name is Daniel Madden and I am really excited to begin my third year at Normal Park! Getting to be a history teacher combines two of my favorite things- studying history and working with kids.
This is my fifth year teaching and third year getting to teach U.S. History. Before this, I taught middle and high school Modern World History, Ancient World History, Government, and Economics.
I graduated from Covenant College in 2018 with a B.A. in History and then again in 2019 with a Masters of Arts in Teaching. My favorite class was Urban American History where I learned about the formation of American cities and how society has formed around these urban areas.
My wife Laura Scott and I met during our freshman year of high school and have now been married for just over 5 years. I am the assistant boys soccer coach and assistant volleyball coach. I love Chattanooga FC, Liverpool FC, and the Atlanta Braves. On any given Saturday, you will likely find me enjoying a cup of Earl Gray tea reading a good book. Recently, my wife and I adopted a baby girl named Kyra. She just turned 1 and she is amazing!
I am really excited about this year. Chattanooga has so much wonderful history that I am stoked to get to explore with you!
