We have streamlined the registration process into the following steps. Steps 1-4 must be completed before your child begins school in the fall. If you are having trouble with any of the links, they are also available at www.hcde.org.

Step 1: Complete Normal Park Registration form

You will need to submit a Google form that is specific to Normal Park students. This is NOT optional. Both zoned and magnet students will need two proofs of residence ready to upload before you start. Scan in or take a picture of a utility bill, cell phone bill, bank statement, etc. Because you are uploading forms, a Google account is necessary to log in. You may have to create one if you don't already use Gmail or have a Google account.

Step 2: Complete online student registration for HCDE

RETURNING STUDENTS

If your child attended a Hamilton County school in 2022 - 2023  and will be attending another Hamilton County school in the fall, your child will enroll as a Returning Student. Registration for returning students is available May 1-31st and again mid-July for the 2023 - 2024 school year. Visit the PowerSchool Parent Portal to enroll your child.

ALL MAGNET STUDENTS:  You must complete this magnet commitment contract which can also be found at the end of the PowerSchool registration on the Summary Page tab under "Additional Links & Information -> School Choice".  Click here for the MAGNET CONTRACT

 Notes:

  •  LIST PARENT/GUARDIANS first as emergency contacts.
  •  You do not need to upload proofs of residence in PowerSchool.  Proofs will be uploaded in Step 1 above.

NEW STUDENTS

Any student who did not attend a Hamilton County school last year will register as a new student. New student registration opens June 1st. You will need to create an account and complete an online registration form by clicking on the following link: New Student Registration.

If you missed Kindergarten registration online earlier in the summer, you may still register at this time.

NEW MAGNET STUDENTS

If your child went to another HCDE school last year and has accepted a magnet spot at Normal Park for the 2023-24 year, register as a returning student.  We will transfer them into our system. Kindergarten magnet students will register as a New Student on June 1st.
ALL MAGNET STUDENTS:  You must complete this magnet commitment contract which can also be found at the end of the PowerSchool registration on the Summary Page tab under "Additional Links & Information -> School Choice". Click here for the MAGNET CONTRACT

Step 3: Pay school fees

Registration fees for the 2023-24 school year:

  • Arts, Science & Technology fee: $25
This is the fee to help cover expenses for Related Arts & Technology for the current school year.
  • Magnet Programming fee: $105
This fee helps us pay for exhibit design materials.

Fees may be paid in person at Meet & Greet or through the new online portal HERE.

When you register with the portal you will need to verify your account through your email.  It will take 24 hours before you can make your first payment.

How to create an account

Registering takes less than two minutes! Visit the Registration Instructions page to learn more.

As well, we have configured the SchoolCash system to send out automated invitation emails to primary guardians. This email provides a link to register for your account.

Parents who have created an account and attached a student to their profile receive an automated notification when any item becomes available for their child. This will help reduce the amount of overdue and forgotten payments and make payments easy to track.

Step 4: Chromebook contract (grades 3rd-8th)

Through the One to One program, all students grades 4th - 12th will receive a county-issued Chromebook to use (3rd grade may be in-school use only).
All parents of Normal Park students in grades 3rd - 8th MUST complete the following Google form Technology Agreement.
For more technology information, including Chromebook Insurance, click HERE.

Step 5: Register for School Aged Child Care (optional)

The registration form for before-care and after-care for the 2023-24 school year is available HERE. It can also be found on the Summary page at the end of your child's PowerSchool registration.
Fees are $6 for beforecare, $9 a day for aftercare, and a $20 registration fee.
All forms will need to be printed and brought to the school with the $20 registration fee attached.
