This is my second year at NPMM as the school librarian and I'm loving it here. I teach our 4th and 5th graders once a week, but the door is always open for them to pop in and look for books. In their classes we cover everything from digital literacy to dadaist poetry to podcasting. I see 6th grade on quarterly rotation and learn about the Dewey Decimal System and how to use a library for researching. This year we brought theatre classes back to NPMM and I teach those to 7th and 8th grade.
I am from Baton Rouge, LA and graduated from LSU with my BA in Theatre Design and Technology. My family and I moved to Chattanooga about 6 years ago. I graduated in May of 2024 from Dominican University with my Masters in Library and Information Sciences. This December I'll be completing my thesis for my Masters of Art in Youth Literature from DU. I am also a graduate student at UT Knoxville to finish up my license. When I'm not doing ALL the school; I'm usually painting, illustrating, making, and writing books.
